Puerto Vallarta & Banderas
Bay
Even
without the benefit of e-mail, marine-life discovered this
safe haven long, long ago. The bay is home to turtles,
schooling jacks, yellow tails and an abundance of tropical
fish of amazing variety. Los Arcos, Majahuitas an the Marietas
Islands are especially rich in marine-life and they have
been designated as protected, underwater national parks.
In fact, the marine-life
is very similar to that found in the sea of Cortez. From
December to April, the bay is host to humpback whales.
Whales sharks, sail fish and wahoo are regular visitors;
schools of dolphins seem to regard these waters as their
own personal playground; and, a mature pacific manta population
patrol the bay almost year-round.
There are scores of secluded
beaches and hidden coves on the rim of the bay, with numerous,
safe sites for snorkeling and first time diving. After
over 34 years of operation here, Chico's knows them all
and we take you to the best. We also know the bay's hidden
and unique underwater architecture of pinnacles and caves;
its undersea mountains that breach the surface to form
the famous pacific pinnacles, and provide the challenge
and adventure sought by experienced divers.
